Seafood2030 Virtual Sustainability Forum | Aligning Industry and Government Sustainability Efforts
In September of 2020, Seafood2030 presented its first Virtual Sustainability Forum to examine opportunities to better align the significant investments in seafood sustainability made by the seafood industry, national governments and inter-governmental bodies.
Lessons from other natural resource sectors were shared to show an evolving relationship – from adversarial to collaborative – between industry and governments as sustainable practices become more important to both the supply chain and the marketplace. Included are lessons from within seafood as well as industry and governments work together to address systemic challenges like forced labor and IUU fishing.
Enjoy recordings of the event’s sessions which cover real-world examples where better alignment of industry and government efforts can improve the sustainability, social impacts, and economic viability of fisheries.
