Visitors to this year’s upcoming Seafood Expo Asia event – taking place in Hong Kong from 4 to 6 September, 2018 – will explore the latest trends in Asia’s seafood industry, taste premium products sourced from around the globe, watch top culinary chefs at work, and more, according to the exposition’s organizer Diversified Communications.
Industry professionals attending the event will have access to sourcing opportunities surrounding fresh, frozen, and value-added seafood products, as well as equipment and services from around Asia. Along with access to products and exhibits, the exposition will also host a conference program focusing on examining “the status of processed seafood in Asia and emphasizing opportunities in seafood innovation and sustainability,” event director Iris Kwan said.
Kicking off the conference agenda will be Euromonitor International, one of the world’s leading providers for global business intelligence and strategic market analysis. The company will discuss the current state of processed seafood in Asia, as well as trends and opportunities in the sector. Following the address from Euromonitor, exhibiting seafood company Thai Union will introduce a case study on identifying market opportunities as well as emerging technologies in processed seafood, and how to develop a connection with consumers.
Featured speaker and panel sessions highlighting the latest technologies and improvements in supply chain efficiencies are also on the docket for Seafood Expo Asia, with industry experts scheduled to discuss the newest sustainable developments in fisheries and seafood merchandising and retailing, Diversified confirmed.
Over the course of the exposition’s three days, special events and interactive activities, such as the market-style Product Showcase, will be onsite to engage and inspire buyers. New to the Product Showcase this year will be the Tasty Kitchen, where visitors will be able to taste some of the most popular products from around the globe. Attendees will be able to continue to enrich their palates by attending onsite culinary demonstrations, which will teach buyers how to source, select, and prepare seafood products.
The Young Chef Challenge returns to Seafood Expo Asia in 2018, with the next generation of culinary talent in Hong Kong preparing sustainable seafood. The contest will also include a daily master class this year, presenting the young chefs and exposition attendees the opportunity to learn from top chefs’ culinary skills, Diversified said.
