As the official media for Seafood Expo North America, taking place 12 to 14 March, 2023, in Boston, Massachusetts, US.A. SeafoodSource has compiled a roundup of new products making their debuts at this year's expo.
-After four years, Bergen, Norway-based Mowi will return to Seafood Expo North America at Booth #217 and Booth #313. At the event, the world's largest farmed salmon producer will showcase its Atlantic Salmon Fresh Never Frozen (skin packed), Atlantic Salmon Smoked, Atlantic Salmon Coated Breaded, Atlantic Salmon Frozen in a Box, and Ducktrap Smoked Seafood products.
“This year, the Mowi booth will have the most-extensive product collection ever exhibited at this important event versus previous years,” Mowi Director of Sales and Business Development Robert Clark said in a press release. “After four years being out of this important event in the industry, we are looking forward connecting with the trade community and sharing all that our organization is capable to serve the seafood space in America."
- Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A-based Acme Smoked Fish will be exhibiting its new Double Smoked Salmon product at Booth #2705. The product was launched in November 2022 as a part of its Spence & Co premium product line.
"Double-smoking the samlon for this special product blends traditional methods with modern techniques, in a process that's done entirely by hand one batch at at time," Acme Vice President of technical services Matt Ranieri said. "It's a wonderful way for salmon-lovers to try something new and enjoy an even more robust flavor."
- Industrial gas supplier based Messer will be at Seafood Expo North America at Booth #788, displaying its Messer Wave Impingement Freezer, spiral freezers, blender chilling systems, and its FARMOX recirculating aquaculture system. The Bridgewater, New Jersey U.S.A.-based firm will also be showcasing an interactive augumented reality experience, to take a closer look at the products.
"The spiral freezers offer seafood processors maximum flexibility to boost throughput within their existing production facility – even when available square footage is limited. Their low entry capital costs are well-suited to the seasonal nature of many seafood processing operations. Attendees can learn about the latest improvements to our spiral freezers like the digital freezer platform, which continuously gathers freezer performance data, leveraging machine learning to provide seafood processors with unprecedented control for improved quality, greater productivity, and robust traceability," Messer said in a press release.
- Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.-based shrimp company, Del Pacifico will be at Seafood Expo North America at Booth #3217, showcasing its wild-caught Mayan Octopus. The new, Fair Trade-certified product is caught off the coast of Yucatan, Mexico.
"Octopus can only be caught from August to December with conservation season beginning mid-December through the month of July. The boats use bamboo fishing poles called jimbas that are baited with a crab and touch the ocean floor about five meters deep. The octopus latches onto the crab and is then pulled up by the pole, thereby producing no bycatch. The octopus is processed by Del Pacifico Seafoods the same day it is caught," Del Pacifico said in a press release.
