Fishery Improvement Projects Address New Challenges on the Water and in the Supply Chain – But Face Novel Obstacles in the Marketplace
Fishery improvement projects (FIPs) have become an effective way for the seafood industry to improve the management and sustainability of fisheries that are difficult to address through traditional levers such as national management, certification, and intergovernmental treaties and organizations. These improvements in the FIP approach have significantly increased the reach and impact of these projects, but have created new challenges in the marketplace – another area detailed in this download.
