Pacific Seafood has added fresh and frozen Norwegian Atlantic salmon fillets to its lineup of product offerings.
The GlobalGAP-certified salmon arrives in the U.S. from Norway within 72 hours of harvest, according to Pacific.
“As a company, our primary focus is providing consumers with the highest-quality seafood options,” Pacific Marketing Specialist Kady Freeze told SeafoodSource. “Norwegian Atlantic salmon has a reputation as a premium product, known for its exceptional taste, texture, and sustainability. As more consumers seek high-quality, responsibly sourced seafood, Norwegian Atlantic salmon continues to stand out as a preferred choice in the market.”
Freeze declined to name Pacific’s Norwegian salmon supplier.
The Clackamas, Oregon, U.S.A.-based company is targeting both retail and foodservice buyers with its fresh or frozen fillets and portions, along with portioned, value-added skin packs. The salmon is free of GMOs, hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics, Pacific said, and its GAP certification is equivalent to Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification. It is also offering Aquaculture Stewardship Council-certified Norwegian salmon upon request.
“Norwegian farmed salmon offers an attractive balance of affordability, especially in the current economic climate,” Freeze said. “We recognize many consumers are mindful of their grocery expenses, while also seeking products that provide quality, nutrition, and are responsibly and sustainably sourced. Pacific Seafood’s Norwegian Atlantic salmon meets these criteria, making it a compelling choice even for budget-conscious shoppers.”
