- Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-based Konscious Foods announced the launch of its first products on 6 March, 2023, including plant-based sushi rolls, onigiri, and poke bowls. The company said it will soon expand its offerings to include including plant-based analogs for tuna, salmon, and snow crab.
- On 6 March, Aqua Cultured Foods announced it will be hosting a taste lab at Future Food Tech, running from 16 to 17 March, 2023 in San Francisco, California, U.S.A. The start-up will exhibit Aqua Cultured Foods’ tuna, ground shrimp, and scallop analogs created with a microbial fermentation base. It closed an oversubscribed pre-seed funding round of USD 2.1 million (EUR 1.8 million) in 2021.
- Rockland, Delaware, U.S.A.-based The ISH Company has announced a distribution agreement with Dot Foods for its plant-based seafood alternatives.
"At ISH, we're on a mission to put plant-based seafood on plates worldwide, empowering people to make choices that are healthier for their body, but also better for our planet," The ISH Company President and Chief Operating Officer Christie Fleming said. "By distributing our plant-based seafood products with Dot Foods, we're making strides in that mission and working towards a future where every restaurant and food retailer provides plant-based seafood options. We look forward to integrating new products with Dot Foods as we continue to innovate in the plant-based food industry."
In August 2022, Thai Union and its subsidiary Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods announced a partnership with The ISH Company to market plant-based seafood products.
