Day-Lee shrimp tempura product recalled by Canadian Food Inspection Agency

Fish balls involved in a recall issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling bags of Day-Lee Foods Frozen Pre-Fried Tempura Shrimp over concerns of the product containing undeclared egg.

The recall, issued 21 March, covers the Santa Fe Springs, California, U.S.A.-based company’s three-kilogram bags of shrimp, which were sold to hotels, restaurants, and institutions in British Columbia, Canada.

The company has recalled products with UPC label #10629317000410, product code #1200058D with a best-by date of 8 June, 2024. 

A separate recall from the agency, issued 22 March, covers fried fish balls sold in the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, as well as online in Canada. 

The 2.5-kilogram packages of fish balls were sold with the UPC label #6972938 240183 and a "best before" date of 18 June, 2024. The manufacturer of the product was not identified.
